The regular meeting of the Village of Divernon Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Divernon Village Hall. Village President Randy Rhodes called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance, Clerk Rod Molnar called roll: Randy Rhodes “Here”, Wayne Jones “Here”, Jim Copelin “Here”, Larry Baer “Here”, Derek Hedges “Here”, Dianne Brenning “Here”. Melissa Layton, Jeremy Rhodes, and Barclay Harris were absent.

A motion was made by Hedges and seconded by Copelin to approve the corrected minutes of December 14, 2016. The motion passed 5-0.

A motion was made by Jones and seconded by Baer to approve the corrected executive session minutes of December 14, 2016. The motion passed 5-0.

Brenning presented the bills with a motion that they be approved. After Baer seconded the motion it was approved 5-0.

Adena Rivas and Tina Williamson of the Elevate Energy Field Organization were in attendance. They spoke about programs that could provide energy savings to residents and possible savings for street lighting for the Village.

Committee Reports:

Economic Development, Zoning, TIF, Building Permits:

Nothing to report.

Public Utilities, Water, Sewer and Gas:

Mayor Rhodes reported that there had been one water break recently.

Finance, Personnel, Technology, GIS:

Hedges had spoken with Office Manager Sue Covi about changes that needed to be made to the Village website. Covi made the changes that she had access to and the others were sent on to the webmaster. Hedges has been working with Treasurer Christine Nichols on concerns he has with the water fund. He will continue to address this with the third quarter revenues.

Public Safety, Police, Health and Safety:

Nothing to report.

Public Works, Streets, Alleys and Sidewalks:

A discussion was held about sidewalk work done the previous year. Some information was requested from the Illinois Department of Labor concerning last year’s program. Per R. Rhodes, the Attorney General’s office requires that the Village do some ADA sidewalk work each year in response to previous complaints. Complaints were then closed by the AG office according to the Village’s plan to continue to fix sidewalks.
