A special meeting of the Village of Divernon Board of Trustees was held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Divernon Village Hall. Mayor Randy Rhodes called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance, Mayor Randy Rhodes called roll: Randy Rhodes “Here”, Jamie Morgan “Here”, Melissa Layton “Here”, Jim Copelin “Here”, Larry Baer “Here”, Derek Hedges “Here”, Dianne Brenning “Here”. Also in attendance was Police Chief Barclay Harris.

Committee Reports:

Economic Development, Zoning, TIF, Building Permits:

A motion was made by Hedges to approve the commercial zoning and building permit at 379 West State Route 104. After the motion was seconded by Copelin, it carried 6-0.

A motion was made by Baer to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 8:07 a.m.

The Board returned to regular session at 8:42 a.m.

A motion was made by Baer and seconded by Layton for the following in regards to Police Officer Josh Hayes. His probation will be extended for one additional year. He will serve a 30 day suspension without pay retroactive to November 9, 2015. He is to enroll in a program that is outlined to him by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees. The motion was approved 4-1 with Morgan voting no, and Copelin voting present.

Motion by Layton to adjourn at 8:47 a.m.
